Training...is it over yet?

After 5 1/2 months of training, Matthew has finally returned to Colorado. He arrived home (for the last time CO will be named "home") on Friday, April 20 for a couple weeks full of packing, working, visiting, and hopefully some fun. He is participating in the Recruiter's Assistance Program, which allowed him 12 extra days of leave, that essentially has him traveling around to local businesses to drop off Air Force literature, delivering thank you notes to businesses that support the Air Force, and making presentations at schools to the youth of America during the weekdays. Once we return home to CA, he will have about 3 more months of training before he becomes an official Crew Chief on the KC-10.

We will make our official move to California on May 8, making Cali our home for the next 2-6 years. To say that we are very excited to finally be settled and living in our own space would be an understatement. It has been a long road to get to this point, but we made it, and are looking forward to this next stage of our journey.

We have had quite a few people ask about the KC-10, what it does, and how it works. The picture below is my best explanation of the aircraft. Hope that clears some things up, otherwise Google is probably a more useful tool than I am. ;)
