I received my 4th phone call from Matthew today. He is still battling an ear infection, but continues to receive antibiotics, so hoping it clears up soon! He had his first experience on kitchen duty yesterday. He volunteered because the guys in his flight that are in charge of kitchen patrol were sick, so felt they could not complete their duties. Matthew stepped up in order to save his flight from any group consequences, aka extra physical training. He said it was tiring and an all day process, but it's over now.
His flight completed the obstacle course today, and he said it was a lot of fun. I am looking forward to, hopefully, seeing pictures of this! Matthew also said that the family that adopted him for Thanksgiving also took pictures and should be sending them soon. The gas chamber was next on the list for the week, so I will be anxious to hear how that goes for the flight.
Matthew still sounds in great spirits and is focusing all of his extra time and energy on studying for his final exams in WOT 7. Nothing too terribly new to report, but like they say, no news is good news. He wanted me to thank everyone that has been thinking of him and supporting him while he has been away. He appreciates each and every one of you!
